1. Cleaning the drywall mud, paint and primer left behind.
We thoroughly clean the floor, taking care to not allow any existing stains to penetrate further into the concrete. While we wish we could remove all stains, sometimes this is not possible.
Depending on the level of filth, at this stage we may find problems with the floor that we will discuss options to subtly hide as we proceed.
2. Wet polish, densify and address cosmetic issues.
Our wet process eliminates almost all the dust from what is typically a very messy process.
This is the stage at which we do our best to eliminate flaws in your floor. By flaw, we mean something that will not look like the natural colours and distress found in properly finished concrete. This could be foot impressions from casting day, stains from beverages, or poor troweling techniques.
Densification of your concrete will enhance the colour, make the surface extremely hard and resistant to scratching.
The densifier used is a zero VOC liquid. It emits no smell. It chemically bonds to the concrete, creating an extremely dense surface layer.
After densifying we continue to polish, spending time on any problem areas to make them look natural.
3. Sealing and cleaning up
While not necessary as the densified concrete is already very resistant to all types of abuse, we apply a thin layer of sealer that chemically bonds to the densifier. This will add resistance to chemicals, oils, water etc. It will never peel and never require reapplication, except in extremely high traffic areas.
You are left with a perfectly clean floor that is ready to use.
